Defend yourself with the help of towers and the restriction of puzzle pieces

A tower defence game in which you place your towers by placing puzzle pieces into a puzzle.

Features

  • 23 custom waves
  • An endless mode
  • 4 unique towers
  • 7 unique enemies
  • Randomly generated puzzle pieces and map layouts

A Game made for the Mini Jam 71, with the theme Puzzles and limitation of combining two genres.

How to play

You buy puzzle pieces from the shop and place them in the puzzle somewhere to defend yourself from waves of enemies. These pieces can be moved once placed and swapped out for other pieces.

Can't place pieces? Make sure you follow these rules (I was planning on having a tutorial or something but ran out of time)

  • Edge pieces can only be placed on the edge, corner pieces can only be placed in the corners, and non-edge pieces can't be placed on the edges or corners.
  • Pieces can only be placed next to other pieces (including paths).
  • Pieces can only fit in like normal puzzle pieces can.

Note: There is no sound in the game due to time limitations, and when going full-screen the mouse doesn't work properly.

I'm having trouble putting the turrets down. I'm guessing they're supposed to fit like regular jigsaw pieces, but I can't place them down. Really enjoyed the game concept though

I’ve put the instructions on how to place pieces on the project page now. I just forgot about that whoops. Thanks, glad you liked the concept though!

Thanks, I'm now able to place them down!

The jigsaw puzzle matching for the turrets is a very interesting mechanic, and gives the game a distinct personality!

The balancing on the first waves should be a little more kind to the player imo, because it's easy to be out of money and lose a lot of health until you're able to buy a new turret.

Other than that, I think the game is pretty great, good job! :3

Thanks! It means a lot to know that you enjoyed it and think it’s an interesting mechanic! I’ll make sure to fix the balancing so that its more forgiving to the player in the next update.
